- Sidetracked Theatre, Philadelphia, PA

January 20 Knoxville, TN.
January 21 Nashville, TN.
January 22 Chattanooga, TN.
January 23 Asheville, NC.
What:
Join The Accidental Circus for an evening of Darwinism in Action and luscious cabaret. Making collaborative mayhem since 2002, these travelers are reuniting on tour in July 2010 and January of 2011. This show promises danger, humor, beauty, song, progressive political humor, and weird social commentary—and all in just one act!
Ringleader and juggler extraordinaire Paolo Garbanzo is the first American ever to become the jester of a European castle. He tours Europe and the US, presenting his original comedic material in three languages. Historical, hysterical, satirical, and interactive, this multi-skilled Renaissance man leads the circus as Benevolent Dictator for Life.
Mab Just Mab, DC’s Sideshow Girl, combines artistry and pain to create hilarious and compelling entertainment. A glasswalker, blockhead, escape artist, and ukulele fanatic, she is a tenured freak at DC’s notorious sideshow venue and museum, The Palace of Wonders. Mab has been featured in several documentaries and books on the sideshow revival, and performs solo, with the Accidental Circus, and with the Cheeky Monkey Sideshow.
The Mezmer Society demonstrates to the general public that, after a 60 year hiatus, it is once more permissible to dance to an accordion. Hard-riding highwaymen of mayhem, they preach the Mezmer gospel throughout the States. Debaucherous bellydance, unpredictability, torchsongs, and sinister accordion playing are blended at high speed into a tall, cool, glass of delicious intoxication. Great for geeks, goths, and anyone who likes to sport a sombrero on national holidays.
Sidetracked is a two-woman team from Philadelphia that entices the crowd with high-integrity, rapid-fire, comedic storytelling. They bring their considerable presence to bear on any audience, rejuvenating the classic Vaudeville genre with contemporary subject matter and sensibility.
Dazzle your loved ones… Invite your enemies because, well, when 5 knives are in the air, accidents can happen. After all, we are the Accidental Circus.

DCVariety – April 29, 2010
18th April 2010
Mab, Just Mab here, excited as heck! This summer is kicking off some fabulous new adventures! After a few test runs, I’m getting the ball rolling on a new collective called DCVariety. DCVariety is all about celebrating the Variety Arts in the Nation’s capital, bringing performers together, sharing resources, ideas, tips and gigs.
My personal goal to help bring out more Variety acts to the District (and beyond!). To that end, I’ve been working with the (stunning and amazing) L’il Dutch to produce a monthly event at the Palace of Wonders. I’ve searched the District to find the best you’ve never seen! Every month we bring you new and unusual acts that wonder and amaze!
Sexy and Sassy, Crude and Classy.
This Month!
Ditch Higgens
When I asked up and coming local sideshow aficionado Ditch Higgens what made his Sideshow stand out, he told me “My act made a whole table get up and leave once”. I hired him on the spot.
Stella Sweet
Burlesque’s Good Girl, except when she’s not, Miss Stella Sweet comes to us all the way from the Aloha State, where she performed with the Cherry Blossom Cabaret. Stella brings the class and titillation of old school burlesque back to the DC stage. This curvaceous cutie exemplifies the art of the tease. Performing in her second show here at the Palace of Wonders, please welcome Miss Stella Sweet!
Spanky Roundbottom
Maryland’s special Slaphappy Sexpot, Spanky Roundbottom!
Hailing from the Carolinas originally, Spanky will be dishing up a heapin’ helpin’ of southern hospitality mixed with mid-Atlantic spunk in a burlesque performance that will make your jeans feel tight!
Red Raven
Death-defying, daring fire dancer, Red Raven, will leave you in awe as she wields Flaring Fans and Sizzling Swords of FLAME!
Special halftime games!
Starting this month, we have a brand new spot of mid-show entertainment: “Make Mab Laugh”
Do you think you have what it takes to make the Mistress of Misery, the Princess of Pain, the Jaded and Bitter Glasswalking Sideshow Girl, Mab, Just Mab crack a smile?
Try your luck, and your best material!
(And before you even think about, she’s not ticklish.)
Super-Fabulous-Amazing-Wondrous Prizes awarded to the winner!

29th March 2010
With the nano-moment of free time, I have updated the photos section of the website! I included the new amazing photos from Joshua Beard! Have a look-see, why don’t you?
We have a Screwloose Circus!
23rd March 2010
Mab has searched far and wide to bring you the freshest vaudeville entertainment. And look at what she’s found!
The Screwloose Circus is a darker, cruelly amusing take on the classic traveling show that promises to delight, shock and entertain its guests with the same vindictive humor of a child falling flat on their face.
Specializing in small venues, and catering to alternative adult audiences there is an act for every taste; ranging from dazzling fire dances, long walks over broken glass and balloon bondage scenes. A classical, sepia toned circus of yesteryear, with a fresh coat of black, red and white paint, this isn’t your grammpy’s show…
The Screwloose Circus will be creating a ruckus (“can you describe the ruckus, sir?”) @ The Palace of Wonders in DC this Thursday evening!
Clowns! Jugglers! Sideshow! Burlesque! UKES!!
Featuring the Unkillable Kilian, Wobbles the Clown, Mab, Just Mab, Juggler Jim and MORE!
Only $10 to show your love!
Only at the Palace of Wonders

Washington DC

Come see the newest circus on the block!

CHEEKY MONKEY SIDESHOW
10 PM
Price: $10
If you don’t know the name Sabrina Chap, you will soon.
Her music is a ragtime stompin’ good time, full of laughs, ballads, and just plain good songwriting. She’s in town to promote her new album, “OOMPA!” — a hilarious, yet heartbreaking romp — and we’re lucky enough to have her onstage with the Cheeky Monkey Sideshow!
You can hear some of her music at http://sabrinachap.com/music.htm.
PLUS:
Witness fantastic feats of physical transcendence–Will it be sword swallowing, mind reading, the cruel bed of nails, fire, human oddities, broken glass, bondage? The only way to find out is to show up!
Amazing acts of stupidity and danger!
Sideshow, sass, and song! It doesn’t get any better than this!
No Screwloose tonight!
11th February 2010
Due to excessive white-out conditions in DC, we are rescheduling the Screwloose Circus to next month, March 25!
This is a first for me, and quite a hard call. I know everyone is eager to leave the house, all rest and no sideshow makes Jack go crazy. Unfortunately, half the performers are in areas that haven’t been plowed, and the metro system isn’t running above ground trains.
Apologies for the tease, but hey, what do you expect from circus folk?
But don’t worry! I was able to reschedule them for next month, March 25th. Hopefully, enough snow will have melted by then that you will be able to find a parking space!
P.S. What does a sideshow girl do with more snow than she’s ever seen in her life? Make a Snow Fort. what else? (Must build up my defenses against the snow Daleks.)
